Philip Silvershein invented the Chunky Candy Bar in the mid 1930's. The shape of the Chunky bar was made from a pyramid of Chocolate with the top cut off. Silvershein named the candy after his granddaughter, who at the time was a "chunky" baby.
Silvershein sold the Chunky Candy Bar to his friend, Mr Wrigley (Stick of chewing gum anyone?) who then sold the idea to Nestle.. who still makes them today.
