Description
Après Ski Lodge Wrap (Navy and Sky)
Crisp white paper is stamped with the best of the mountain lodge: navy "Ski Resort" badges with crossed skis, tan "Ski Club" crests, a sky-blue "Merry & Bright" tag, and little pine trees, snowflakes, and striped candy canes. Every badge looks like a sticker you'd find on a well-traveled ski case, and the whole sheet has the cozy, lived-in feel of a lodge with a fire going.
Skiing began as a practical way to get around snowy country. Rock carvings in Norway show skiers thousands of years ago, long before anyone thought of lift tickets. The après-ski tradition, from the French for "after skiing," came later, when skiers started swapping tales over hot drinks once the slopes closed for the day. The first purpose-built ski resort in the United States, Sun Valley in Idaho, opened in 1936 and gave the lodge-and-lift style its first real home.
