Joy to the World Star Card

Let a bright star guide your holiday greetings. This 5 x 7 inch card glows with a deep blue night sky, where a raised gold star shines above purple hills, joined by three acrylic gem stars and scattered gold foil stars. "Joy to the World" flows across the hills in gold foil script. Inside, navy script wishes you the spirit of Christmas, with joy, peace, and comfort, and a sprinkling of gold foil stars across the page. The foil-lined envelope keeps the glow going.

The words "Joy to the World" come from Isaac Watts, who wrote the hymn in 1719 as a paraphrase of Psalm 98. It's usually paired with a melody credited to George Frideric Handel, arranged by Lowell Mason in 1839. Stars have topped Christmas trees for generations as a nod to the star that the Gospel of Matthew describes guiding the wise men to Bethlehem, so this card carries an old symbol across the sky.
