Lighted Spinning Snowman Water Globe with Timer

Not every snowman stays upright. This one has taken a spectacular tumble on the slopes. He's landed on his head, with his red cap and holly still on and his skis kicking in the air. His round belly is a sparkling water globe holding a snowy woodland scene: a glowing cabin, frosted pines and a little deer. Switch him on and the glitter swirls on its own while a warm light shines through the village. You won't need to shake him, which is probably a relief after that fall.

Snow globes have been delighting people since at least the 1878 Paris Exposition. The modern version took off around 1900, when Viennese instrument maker Erwin Perzy was trying to build a brighter surgical lamp. He dropped semolina into a water-filled glass globe, saw it drift down like snowfall and gave up on the lamp. His family still makes snow globes in Vienna today. We think this tumbling snowman would make Herr Perzy smile.
