Highland Cow Statue (Large)

Here's a shaggy showstopper for your porch or hearth. This big Highland cow is sculpted in magnesium composite, with every wind-tossed lock of her coat carved in detail. She has a thick fringe over her eyes, long upswept horns tipped in cream and dark hooves planted firmly on the ground. At over two feet long, she has real presence by the front door, next to the tree or in a garden bed dusted with snow. Highland cattle come from the rugged hills of northwest Scotland, where they've grazed since at least the 6th century. Scots call them "heilan coos." Their famous double coat, a downy undercoat under long, oily outer hair, lets them shrug off sleet that would send other cattle running for the barn. A group of Highlanders isn't called a herd. It's called a fold, after the stone shelters where they spent winter nights. Vermont winters are no match for this one.
