Description
Reindeer and Sprig Wrap (Silver Gray)
A soft silver-gray ground hosts a cheerful winter meadow of charcoal and sage sprigs, gold-tipped berries, and little white snowflakes. Among the foliage, red poinsettia blooms and leaping white reindeer trot across the sheet, as if the whole herd wandered through on the way to the rooftops. It's a wrap that looks ready for a winter walk and a warm fire.
Reindeer have been pulling Santa's sleigh since Clement Clarke Moore's 1823 poem, "A Visit from St. Nicholas," named the original eight. Rudolph arrived a century later, in 1939, when copywriter Robert L. May created him for a Montgomery Ward holiday booklet. The poinsettia has its own story: Joel Roberts Poinsett, the first U.S. minister to Mexico, brought the plant home in 1828, and the bright red blooms have been brightening American winters ever since.
