Season's Favorites - Deck the Halls (Evergreen & Gold)

A classic evergreen stands tall on a cream card with a thin gold frame, crowned with a gold star and dotted with gold ornaments. A gold foil banner wraps the tree and reads "Deck the Halls." Open the card to a soft sage panel with "Delight in the Season" in script and a small tree tucked in the corner. Each card comes with a sage-striped envelope that echoes the inside's gentle green.

The carol started life as a Welsh tune called "Nos Galan," which means "New Year's Eve," and it was collected in the late 1700s. The English words we sing today were added in the 1860s, and the "fa la la" refrain borrows from the Renaissance part-songs of centuries earlier. Gold ornaments have their own Victorian charm: families of the 1800s loved glass baubles and gilded trimmings, and a tree dressed in gold still looks like it belongs in a parlor with a crackling fire.
