Season's Favorites - Let It Snow (Sage & Gold)
Two top-hatted snowmen stand shoulder to shoulder against a soft sage sky, their hats banded in gold and their buttons and carrot noses picked out in gold. "let it SNOW" in gold foil fills the snowbank below them. Open the card to a pale gray-blue panel dusted with snowflakes, where a line of script reads "It's the most wonderful time of the year" above two smaller snowmen. Each card comes with a deep sage envelope scattered with white snowflakes.
"Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" was written in 1945 by Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne, and Cahn reportedly came up with it during a sweltering Los Angeles summer, when a snowy daydream sounded very appealing. The snowman's top hat has an even more famous source. The 1950 song "Frosty the Snowman" gave the world a snowman in a silk hat, and the look has been a holiday favorite ever since. The inside line borrows the title of Andy Williams's 1963 hit, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."
